An alternative to traditional pizza, gluten-free, without corn, without any kind of cereal flour, which can be eaten with your hands (and it doesn’t break). It is ideal for kids and for all pizza lovers in general. I suggest not to tell the ingredients until your family and friends haven’t tasted

Cauliflower is rich in vitamin C, together with vitamin B9, also known as folate,  necessary during pregnancy, for development and proper functioning of brain and vision. It’s also rich in vitamin B1 (which participate in the metabolism of glucose into energy) and vitamin A (for the skin protection ). Its antioxidants have important anticancer action, especially against colon cancer. The fibres help to regulate intestinal transit, while the presence of iron and vitamin C make it a good natural remedy against anaemia as they work together to enhance iron absorption from the diet.

Ingredients (for 1 pizza base)

  • 4 cups of raw cauliflower rosettes finely chopped. To chop cauilfower you can use grater or mixer.

  • 1 beaten egg

  • 1/3 cup of parmesan cheese grated

  • Pinch of salt

  • Pinch of dry oregano

  • Extra virgin olive oil

Instructions step by step

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 200 ° C. Grate the cauliflower rosettes until you obtain the consistency similar to rice

Step 2

In the pan heat a little of olive oil along with crushed cauliflower. Stir  for 10 min until it becomes slightly golden

Step 3

In a bowl, add cauliflower, beaten egg, the pinch of salt, Parmesan cheese and oregano. Mix well all the ingredients

Step 4

Put the baking paper in the pizza pan Distribute the cauliflower batter in the round shape of pizza. If you want, you can make the edges a little thicker

Step 5

Bake for 30-35min minutes at 200 ° C. At the end the pizza base must be golden and crispy.

Step 6

Add your favourite pizza ingredients. I used tomato sauce, mozzarella, mushrooms and parmesan. You can add black olives, ham, peppers or any other you prefer.

Step 7

Once all ingredients are assembled, put the pizza back into the oven for a further 5-10 minutes until cheese melts.
